Create goals for yourself and pursue them.
When building your home-base business in order to be successful you must first have a clear goal in mind. People have no idea what they want and therefore never achieve greatness. Life's biggest question becomes, "How do I decide what to do, when I have no idea what to do?"
I'm going to share with you how to solve that dilemma- it's a matter of goals, priorities and planning.
A goal is what you want to achieve. It may relate to your family, education or career, or any other aspect of your life. Many people set financial goals. It is good to have goals in all areas of your life, but you should not have so many that they become overwhelming.
How do you create goals? First, think about exactly what you want to achieve because, as you will see, you will structure your entire life around this. There is a well-known acronym, SMART, that business people and others use when creating goals. Your goals should be:
S- Specific
M- Measurable
A- Attainable
R- Relevant
T- Time-based
Once you create a specific written goal, you need to set priorities. For example, if your goal is to invest seven hours per week in your spouse and children, then extra hours at work or watching a favorite TV Program may no longer be an option. You need to set new priorities that put family ahead of overtime or TV time.
How do you make sure you keep the appointed times you have with family? You do it by means of planning. You don't hope you'll have time for them, you plan so that you do. Usually this means you have a date book where you allocate time. If something comes up and you're tempted to bump them, you don't do it- your priorities are set. When you follow thought consistently, you ultimately reach your goal.
Goals, priorities, planning-these are powerful steps you can use to create an interesting, productive and purposeful life. Apply the process to your family life, your educational goals or your home-base business. People who succeed in life have written goals and they arrange their time to meet those goals.
